Some images are about the moment before. This one is about the surface itself, the thin, translucent thing separating two people who are, for now, still on opposite sides of it. The ink doesn't sit cleanly; it bleeds and pools the way breath fogs glass, the way certainty blurs at 1am. The light above them is the only sharp element in the whole composition, everything else is atmosphere, pressure, proximity.
